I'm a person that travels a lot. Not always by choice, mind you--my husband is British so we have to make the yearly trek "across the pond" even if we don't want to. I've been on almost all major carriers at one time or another. Back in the day of frequent flyer miles, we even got bumped up to the top bubble of a British Airways plane. Sat in ...more

I met up with my buddy in Ho Chi Minh City, and it turns out that he had met a vietnamese guy living and studying in australia on the plane over to vietnam, had a chat, and when they arrived, was asked to come to the guy's cousin's wedding. We got in touch with him to see if it was ok for me to go, and then mototaxied it over to the park that the reception ...more

Although I have been to Niagara Falls twice a year for my entire life, I had never been the Butterfly Conservatory until a recent guided trip to the Falls with my students. As part of this trip we visited a variety of sites - Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum (actually a lot of fun),  the Guiness Book of World Records Museum, the Journey ...more

Imagine an 11 floor floating resort with comfortable accommodations, quality dining, and Las Vegas Style entertainment just steps apart. Did I mention there are multiple lounges offering live music, great wines and malts without fear of a DUI? I've cruised at least 20 times and every time I walk on-board I still marvel with excitement ...more

This hotel is located in Old Quebec, within the city walls. Our rate in mid March through hotels.ca was around $75 / night + tax and processing (Mon - Thurs). If you're flying into the Jean Lesage International Airport and cabbing it, you can expect a flat rate of $32.50. First impression was great - we arrived at the hotel around 11:10PM. Upon arrival, ...more

This happened prior to 9/11.  It may have gone differently, had it been more recent.  I had the flu, yet had to head to Washington DC on a 6:30 am flight for a conference.  I was in my seat on the plane when I saw a pale, grey-toned man heading towards my aisle.  "Please don't sit here, please don't sit here.." I thought to myself.    ...more

Nine years ago this month, I went on a week-long tour of Russia sponsored by George Mason University, where I was studying at the time. The week of the trip was the school's spring break, but as anyone familiar with the Russian climate knows, March is still very much in the dead of winter there. Why spend my spring break in a frigid place like Russia ...more

I was blessed with the opportunity to go to Las Vegas, Nevada, all expenses paid with my girlfriend, no less. It was the best vacation I've ever had, even though i was only 15 and couldn't fully appreciate what Vegas had to offer. Of course it wasn't just my girlfriend and I, the one who was taking us on the trip was my girlfriends grandmother who ...more

My family and I (including my fiance) traveled to Melia Las Antillas for a week in mid-May 2008. As someone who has been to the Caribbean 8 times (including 4 visits to different areas of Cuba), overall I was impressed with this hotel. In fact, I have recommended it to several people since and have heard only positive things about the resort. If you ...more
