It's 12:45PM EST and I'm watching Ashton Kutcher (@aplusk) challenge CNN (@cnnbrk) in a race to obtain 1,000,000 followers. I think it's the first time anyone has seen anything like this unfold. As I write, both are sitting at around 994,000, with Kutcher in the lead by about 700 followers - he has jumped on a live feed from Ustream to try and attract ...more

It all started with a vacation to Cayo Coco, Cuba in May of 2003. Jacqueline had finished her high school education and was accompanied by her grandparents. I was on vacation with three friends from university celebrating the successful completion of our second year. Late at night, many of the resort's guests would filter into the discotheque - a place ...more

It was a gig for the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) in 1995. They were looking for musicians to showcase music from across Canada. Together with my brothers, I was asked to play Celtic fiddle music on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario for Canada Day. We arrived two days early to practice with the other performers - this included Rita MacNeil, ...more

This hotel is located in Old Quebec, within the city walls. Our rate in mid March through hotels.ca was around $75 / night + tax and processing (Mon - Thurs). If you're flying into the Jean Lesage International Airport and cabbing it, you can expect a flat rate of $32.50. First impression was great - we arrived at the hotel around 11:10PM. Upon arrival, ...more

My Fiancee and I recently arrived back from a vacation to Quebec City in Quebec, Canada. While visiting, we had the pleasure of eating at a great little Italian joint. The restaurant is called Portofino Bistro Italiano, and they specialize in pizza, pasta, and seafood. The atmosphere was warm. It was a dark restaurant, dimly lit with candles at each ...more

TwitterBerry is a solid little program. It's free and simple to install. Just make sure you install using your default browser on the BlackBerry - I ran into trouble attempting to install from Opera Mini. The application installs quickly, then you're all set to go! Enter the app, put in your Twitter username and password, then click 'Test Connection'. ...more

We never had a Popeyes in my community growing up. A location just opened in my area so I checked it out - I liked my first experience, so I went back and tried a few other menu items. After several visits, I've had a chance to try their spicy chicken, chicken strips, shrimp, cajun fries, cajun mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and of course, their ...more

It was the end Jacqueline's fourth year of University and like many other graduating students, she looked forward to a celebratory vacation. The goal was to spend three and a half weeks backpacking across several countries in Europe - fly into France, meet with family in Portugal, then move onto Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and return back to ...more

My experience at Skydive Burnaby was pretty cool. After multiple visits due to poor weather conditions, I was finally able to complete a tandem skydive. Being this was the fourth time I had visited Skydive Burnaby (due to the weather conditions), my emotion and attitude had shifted from fear to restlessness - I was unsure how long I'd have to wait ...more
