My First Flight On Jet Blue

I'm a person that travels a lot. Not always by choice, mind you--my husband is British so we have to make the yearly trek "across the pond" even if we don't want to. I've been on almost all major carriers at one time or another. Back in the day of frequent flyer miles, we even got bumped up to the top bubble of a British Airways plane. Sat in First Class once too, when my son was 6. (which of course, ruined him for life when it came to flying commercial again!) At that time, you actually got a great meal on the plane and FREE drinks! Seems a lifetime ago.  *sigh*

Usually we drive to Toronto for our flights because it's so much cheaper than flying from the States. That's amost a 3 hour drive. Other times, we go to Buffalo, 2 hours away because it's expensive to fly from Rochester. I've been shuttled and bumped...lost luggage for 3 days while in Paris. The whole 9 yards. I don't expect much anymore from flying...I just hope I arrive in one piece and not too pissed off.

Imagine my surprise when I took a flight this past weekend on Jet Blue and really loved the experience. Yes, flying was FUN again. Ok, it was only an hour's flight...but still, I felt like a person again. The seats were heaven. I could fit my legs nicely. Being 5' 3" you'd think I'd have no trouble but believe me-- I've been cramped up there with the tallest of them. Not only could I put my feet under, I could fit MY WHOLE BAG down there! Wowza. The attendants were fun--most of them cracking jokes and trying to get us all to think we were flying to Orlando instead of NYC. We got free water or soda and some cool Doritos snacks. I was in heaven. The seats were large and leather. The plane smelled good. Every chair had a TV. Plus, it was one  of the more inexpensive flights we could find!!

I've never gushed about an airline before but after two great flights with THE BLUE, I'm getting the word out. I told the pilots I was hoping they'd fly to England soon and they said the company was "working on it". I can only hope it comes soon. Great job. I was a happy traveller again.
