I'm a person that travels a lot. Not always by choice, mind you--my husband is British so we have to make the yearly trek "across the pond" even if we don't want to. I've been on almost all major carriers at one time or another. Back in the day of frequent flyer miles, we even got bumped up to the top bubble of a British Airways plane. Sat in ...more

I am always intrigued by "group experience". Things as a collective we feel together. The moon walk, 9/11, Princess Diana's funeral. This week I got to have a unique one again by tuning into "The King of Pop's" memorial service from LA. I have to say I thought it would be a complete circus. From the lottery to the "who's who" of stars in attendance, ...more

Imagine an 11 floor floating resort with comfortable accommodations, quality dining, and Las Vegas Style entertainment just steps apart. Did I mention there are multiple lounges offering live music, great wines and malts without fear of a DUI? I've cruised at least 20 times and every time I walk on-board I still marvel with excitement ...more

It was in 1993 that my Mom relocated us from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA to Las Vegas , NV, mostly because California, (Orange County especially), was just too expensive for a single parent to survive with three kids to support. It was a major change for all of us, but we all managed to adjust and before long my Mom was happily employed with Mirage ...more

I am by trade, a speech pathologist and as such, have to work with many populations. While I was in graduate school, we had to do an internship at an off-site from college. By the luck of the draw, I received a rehab center in Erie, PA. Four of us college girls drove an hour each way along Lake Erie to arrive at work at 7am each day for 10 weeks. Before ...more

Considering is this was a very strange day, I might as well start with my experience since I woke up! I'm not really one to handle stress or new things very well...I should know better than to do certain things on my own. One of these things would have to be, trying to set up online accounts anywhere! My day started a little after noontime, I found ...more

This happened prior to 9/11.  It may have gone differently, had it been more recent.  I had the flu, yet had to head to Washington DC on a 6:30 am flight for a conference.  I was in my seat on the plane when I saw a pale, grey-toned man heading towards my aisle.  "Please don't sit here, please don't sit here.." I thought to myself.    ...more

Memphis, Tennessee on January 1, 1994 was a cold dreary night, I was 9 month's pregnant and couldn't sleep. So Luann, Heather and I went up to the local Block Buster close to midnight for a movie. As we were walking in the door Luann turns and says to me, "Don't you dare go into labor here". I laugh it off because the baby wasn't due for another ...more
